Fame, love, and despair collide on the edge of the sea. Nim, a world-famous rapper, is drowning in success yet starved of meaning. The crowd knows his name, but recognition has not saved him from himself.
The book began as a private argument with Seneca about fame, and turned into a story about a man who confuses being known with being loved.
It moves somewhere between philosophy, confession, satire and myth, asking what remains when the applause fades and the self underneath the performance still wants to be held.
